Maxi-Martina Zimmer

Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m Maxi-Martina.

I am a pluralistic psychotherapeutic counsellor based in Central London offering psychotherapeutic counselling with over 450 client-hours of experience. Therapy is offered both in person and online to adults across the UK and Europe.

My commitment is to create a compassionate, respectful, and confidential space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences at your own pace.

At the same time, I work with clients from diverse backgrounds and provide support in English and German, tailoring each session to your individual needs and goals.

What I Believe...

Support during times of change is not about fixing what is broken. Instead, psychotherapeutic counselling creates a space where you can feel seen, heard, and supported in a way that honours who you are and what you have been through. In this way, therapy can support meaningful change.

THE JOURNEY THAT LED ME HERE

A Therapist Shaped by Lived Experience

My work is informed not only by professional training, but also by lived experience. Leaving home at eighteen, living in different countries, and navigating loss, menopause, and chronic health conditions have shaped both who I am and how I work as a therapist.

Supporting my husband through a life-threatening autoimmune illness deepened my understanding of compassion, balance, emotional connection, and the importance of self-care. Because of this experience, I approach my work with greater empathy and realism.

As a result, these experiences allow me to meet clients with genuine empathy, realism, and care. Therapy is not just my profession. It is my passion and my calling.

Clients and Specialisms

Through psychotherapeutic counselling, I support individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including:

• Anxiety and stress
• Depression
• Bereavement and loss
• Self-esteem and identity issues
• Chronic health concerns and pain
• Life transitions and coping skills

• Women’s issues and emotional wellbeing
• Trauma and PTSD symptoms

In our work together, I collaborate with you to understand what you are experiencing and help you develop tools, insight, and confidence to navigate life’s challenges.
